AFFORDABLE HOUSING

I saw affordable housing come up often as an issue in my work on Elgin’s City Council. Rural Minnesota is often considered a more affordable option for residency than in a more densely populated area, however there are still housing issues in our small towns. Often times, there are not enough housing options that are available to more into, or as is the case with Elgin, there simply is not enough space in town to build more. Such is the case that a resident needs to move out of town before another resident can move in.

Housing incentives

Rural communities could benefit greatly by creating affordable housing options. Bringing in new residents to Rural Minnesota can create towns with thriving communities.

Supporting affordable housing

Once in the Minnesota Legislature, I will support initiatives that create affordable housing options with my district. Our school districts benefit from a thriving community around them, that is why I will support affordable housing options in 20B.
