Healthcare is an important issue for me because I am someone who has a preexisting medical condition. For a majority of my life, I had to depend on my parent’s health insurance because I could not afford to live otherwise. I remember when I got my current job, I was so excited because my insurance was extremely affordable. Not every Minnesotan is so lucky.
Access to affordable healthcare
As your representative, I will continuously fight for affordable healthcare options within my district. Rural Minnesota is often at a disadvantage for access healthcare in both a policy means, and a physical means. Healthcare providers can often times be a great distance from communities in Rural Minnesota, we need to be aware of these roadblocks and be cognizant of these shortcomings.
Mental Health
Ending the stigma of mental health is very important to me. One of the ways we can achieve this is by making mental health a more affordable and accessible option for everyone. Mental healthcare should not be a luxury, it should be available to anyone that needs/wants access to it.
